Please inform all British visa issuing authorities under your superintendence and in your area that until further notice no onward transit passengers for China can be accepted in Hong Kong. Also no travellers from foreign countries or the South seas can be accepted for Hong Kong without prior visa.

Persons already en route for China or Hong Kong are excepted. If the situation improves the ban will be lifted. Reason for it is excessive influx from China in recent weeks and excessive strain on hotel and other accommodation.
